This authorized five-day course offers information and skills needed to ensure network security based on Cisco IOS routers and switches. Learners will become familiar with OSI layer two security threats and the possibilities of their elimination. IBNS (Cisco Identity Based Networking Services) and IEEE 802.1x are discussed in detail. The course also deals with VPN technologies (site-to-site, SSL and Easy VPN), Cisco IOS Firewall and Cisco IOS IPS (Intrusion Prevention System).

Duration: 5 days

After completing this course, attendee should be able to:

• Implement and maintain Cisco IOS Software infrastructure protection controls in a Cisco router- and switch-based network infrastructure
• Implement and maintain Cisco IOS Software threat control and containment technologies in a Cisco router-based perimeter infrastructure
• Implement and maintain Cisco IOS Software VPN technologies in a Cisco router-based WAN
• Implement and maintain Cisco IOS Software remote access VPN technologies in a Cisco router-based remote access solution

Prerequisites:

• Participation in courses ICND1 - Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1, ICND2 - Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 and IINS - Implementing Cisco IOS Network Security or valid CCNA Security certification, or adequate knowledge

Who should attend:

• Network administrators
• Applicants for 642-637 SECURE certification, which is the part of CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Networking Professional Security) certification

Materials:

All participants will get original Cisco student and lab guides.

Equipment:

Labs are practised on physical Cisco devices. Classrooms are equipped with high-performance computers with Internet access and the possibility of wireless connection.
