This five-day course is designed to provide service provider professionals with information on the use of Multiprotocol Label Switching Virtual Private Networks (MPLS VPN). This course reinforces the instruction by providing students with hands-on experience with remote labs that are useful to gain practical skills on deploying MPLS Layer 3 VPN, MPLS Layer 2 VPNs and Ethernet services using Cisco IOS / IOS XE and Cisco IOS XR.

Duration: 5 days

After completing this course, attendee should be able to:

• Introduce VPN technologies used in the service provider environment and the MPLS VPN peer-to-peer architecture
• Describe implementation steps needed to provide MPLS Layer 3 VPN service in the service provider network
• Describe how the MPLS Layer 3 VPN model can be used to implement managed services and Internet access
• Describe Layer 2 VPNs and Ethernet services

Prerequisites:

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS / IOS XE and Cisco IOS XR software configuration
• Skills and knowledge equivalent to those learned in the Deploying Cisco Service Provider Network Routing (SPROUTE) 1.0 course, the Deploying Cisco Service Provider Advanced Network Routing (SPADVROUTE) 1.0 course, and the Implementing Cisco Service Provider Next-Generation Core Network Services (SPCORE) 1.0 course

Who should attend:

• Network administrators, network engineers, network managers, and systems engineers who would like to implement IP routing in service provider environments
• Applicants for 642-889 SPEDGE exam, which is the part of CCNP Service Provider certification

Materials:

All participants will receive original Cisco student and lab guides.

Equipment:

Labs are practiced on physical Cisco devices. Classrooms are equipped with high-performance computers with Internet access and the possibility of wireless connection.
